In terms of fitness, the Tony Little Gazelle is becoming a house hold name.

Tony Little Gazelle - Pros & Cons

At times, cardiovascular exercise can be difficult. Running can be hard on your joints, riding a bicycle can be like watching paint dry, and swimming at the health club can be a hassle. Yet we know we need to do it.

The Gazelle by Tony Little brings together many of the positive benefits of running, bicycling, and swimming, without the negatives.

Pros

1. Standing exercise- cardiovascular exercise shouldn't be grueling, but it should be "exercise". By standing you are using your whole body instead of just your legs. This enables you to burn more calories and train your cardiovascular system thoroughly.

2. Whole body exercise- unlike riding an exercise bike, the Gazelle by Tony Little empowers you to not only train your lower body, but upper body as well. Unlike running where your arms have no resistance, with the Gazelle both your upper and lower body are moving against mild resistance.

3. Fluid movement- like swimming, the Gazelle's movement is very fluid and natural. This allows your body to relax and give you a comfortable workout experience.

Tips for Enhancing Your Cardio Workouts

1. Vary your workout times- there is a workout principle called "the Law of Diminished Returns." It simply means that the longer the body trains on the same routine, the less effective that routine will become. To counteract this effect, vary your cardio times.

    Example:

      Monday 15min
      Wednesday 20min
      Friday 15min
2. Adjust your stride- when doing cardio your body can begin to stiffen up. To eliminate this, every 5 minutes stretch out your stride.

3. Burn more fat- if you train in the morning, do your cardio on an empty stomach (with a cup of coffee). Studies show that your body can burn twice as much fat because your body is in a fasted state all night.

4. If working out in the morning isn’t convenient, using the Tony Little Gazelle in the afternoon or evening can be almost as effective. To boost your results eat only 2-3 hour prior to your workout. This enables your body to use more body fat when exercising due to being in a fasted state.
