Your Toned Body
Achieving a toned body doesn't have to be hard or complicated. In fact, it can be as simple as
choosing the right type of exercise for your goals.
You may have questions like:
What type of workout do I need to do?
How often do I need to do it?
How can I get the best results?
Below discover the answers to these questions, along with Tips for enhancing your
results.
Basic Principles for Your Success
Principle 1 - You can do it . Your body was
created to be healthy. It was designed for daily activity. When you begin to give it the exercise it
desires it will give you the energy, vitality, and health, you deserve.
Principle 2 - Be healthy. By choosing to exercise to increase your energy, vitality, and health, you
will achieve a toned body by accident.
Does it makes sense to get in shape and destroy your
health? Always exercise/eat for your health--losing inches, weight, and toning will happen by
itself.
Principle 3 - It is better to do a little consistently, than try to do too much--and do it
inconsistently.
Workout Myth - If doing 30 minutes gives me good results, then doing 45 or even 60
minutes will give me even better results.
Example 1 (consistency) - Monday 30 minutes on a treadmill, Wednesday 30 minutes on a
treadmill, Friday 30 minutes on a treadmill, Monday 30 minutes on a treadmill...
Example 2 (trying to do too much) - Monday 60 minutes on a treadmill, Wednesday 75 minutes
on a treadmill, Friday no workout (too tired and sore), Monday 60 minute workout, Wednesday
no workout (too sore and getting sick of working out )
Can you see how Example 1 will give you the best results?

Toned Body - Circuit Training or Aerobic Exercise?
For toning and losing body fat, both circuit training and aerobic exercise (i.e. walking on a
treadmill) work very well.
Circuit training will work best for individuals who want to lose inches.
People who circuit train
can lose excess weight, however, because they will be doing resistance exercise, their body's
composition will change (they will have less body fat and more toned muscle).
In contrast, aerobic exercise will work best for individuals who want to lose weight.
Training at Home
For aerobic exercise, you could get good results from a Tony Little Gazelle, a treadmill, or even the Bowflex Treadclimber.
Premium home gym equipment like the Bowflex Treadclimber offer additional features like: heart rate monitors, time/speed trackers, calories burned display, etc.
However, you could still get great results from a Tony Little gazelle.
