My Bowflex XTL Experience

by nate
(huntington)

I have owned a first generation bowflex xtl with lat pulldown for nine years. Although a couple of the power rods that are used more often are not as powerful as they once were the machine hasn't lost any usability.

The bowflex xtl has been a great experience for me.I live in a town house as a college student and it takes up a lot less space and looks much neater than all the equipment I would need to replace it.

However its not without faults. Some of your muscles are awkard to work on this machine... esp if your well over 6' tall like me. If you plan on getting a bowflex xtl you should also plan on getting some free weights (suggest some dumbbells) and a nice medicine ball. This way you can incorporate the dumbbells into your workout to hit the missed muscle groups and the med ball will let you work your obliques. (the machine works the middle abdominals nicely.)

Cardio is also important for weight loss.
