My Bowflex Ultimate 2 Review

by Chuck M
(North Carolina)

I bought the Bowflex Ultimate 2 after reading about how the Bowflex Revolution was a pain to put together and was bigger. Well the U2 is smaller but it came in 7 boxes and was a pain to put together. The instructions were well written though and easy to follow.

I have lifted weights since I was 12 and am now 53. I used to compete in powerlifting and am now getting my share of arthiritis.

After taking hours to put the machine together I have used it maybe 8 times and am finally getting "used" to it.

I have to say I love the machine! My joints don't hurt when doing exercises as they did when using weights. I get a good workout with this machine.

I have a set of Powerblocks (dumbells that go from 5lbs to 50lbs by just changing pins) and dipping bars which give me a good workout.

I have not used the squat part of the machine yet since my hips hurt quite a bit but I use the extention and leg curl.

My only complaint is the curl part(preacher curls can only be partially done as there is not enough cable to get a full curl) and the pulldown. I feel no resistance at all for the first half of the pulldown as my arms are either too long or the bench is too high

Overall I think this machine is worth the $2100 I paid as I save gas, car wear and tear, time, and gym dues.
