My Bowflex Revolution

by Todd
(Plymouth, MI, USA)

Something happened after already writing off the purchase of this machine. My wife became pregnant, we already have a toddler running around and now the thought of coordinating a good time to use our Ballys membership seemed even more impossible.

My wife said something about the Bowflex Revolution that we had seen on TV and I instantly reassured her that it was over $2600. Dream shattered! The magic happened when she rationalized the purchase as one we may need to stay in shape because getting to Ballys was really not going to happen now with our work and self child care schedule. She is the financial savvy one and if she said it was OK then........Whoopee!

We found one on EBay for cheaper than retail, including shipping. About a week later and 5 or 6 Huge boxes, poor Fed-Ex guy, I assembled the Preying Mantis and started on one of their many fine workouts in the book.

I have worked out on one of their power rod models back in the mid 90's and I knew they worked well. I was instantly impressed with the LINEAR weight resistance of the spiraflex plates. Not progressive like the power rods and already better than the cable machines at Ballys.

I had used one of Bowflex's newer power rod machines on our honeymoon in 2005 at a hotel and That particular model, "Bowflex Extreme chair model", didn't offer a good range of motion for me. I was really disappointed. I thought if we bought a Bowflex then it would be one of the older, bench type models. BTW I'm 6'2 with 36" sleeve.

After you get used to setting up the machine for various exercises, it's a snap! I love being able to do Hamstring, leg exercises as our job has us sit a lot. The rowing machine is great too!

Excellent machine! Never-ever regret the purchase! I constantly tell my wife "I'm glad we bought that Bowflex", usually after every workout.
