I do not like the Bowflex Dumbbell system THEY ARE DANGEROUS!

I have been lifting for 18 years. I thought I could save some time and do some workouts at home. I purchased the 1090 selectTech dumbbells.

The base that holds the dumbbell has broken twice and the weight plates have fallen off and cracked (the plates just missing my foot). Or worse, they fall on a tile floor and crack the floor. The coating on the plates are too weak and now the ones that fell are missing the hard coating. Now one of the Bowflex Dumbbells will not work at all.

I think they are Dangerous, poorly made (in China) and Over priced.

I have only used them for three workouts. I will be returning the Bowflex selettech 1090 dumbbells and buying the PowerBlock system.

Have you tried the Ironmaster adjustable dumbbells?
by: Chris

Hello,

I was just wondering if you have tried the Ironmaster dumbbells? I used an Ironmaster home gym for over 5 years and found it to be very sturdy.

I noticed Ironmaster makes dumbbells now and was just wondering if anyone has tried them out.

They're 75Ibs. a piece and have an upgrade to make them 120Ibs. a piece. Ironmaster also has stands to hold the dumbbells for doing chest presses.

Amazon is offering them for $495
