Exercise Motivation - Making Your Workouts More Fun & Effective

Would you like to enjoy, have fun in, and get the results you want from your workouts? Exercise motivation can make that possible.

You can create an environment that not only refreshes you physically, but also nourishes your mind, emotions, and spirit.

On this page you can find Tips for creating more enjoyable and productive workouts.

Creating Enjoyable and Productive Workouts

So you’ve arrived at the gym (or home gym ) and started your workout. Your energy starts flowing, body loosens up, and all the tensions of life pass away.

Can it get any better than this? Yes, it can.

To make your workout more enjoyable and effective, try adding these:

  • Music or a book on CD. When exercising (especially doing cardio) you may find your mind begins to wander and distract you from your exercise session. Listening to your favorite music or listening to an audio book while doing cardio can both enrich you mentally as well as physically.
  • Motivational tapes. Listening to a motivational speaker can nourish your mind, emotions, and spirit.
  • Workout partner. Having a friend to exercise with can add fun and excitement. Along with enjoying each others company, having a workout friend can motivate you on those days where you don’t feel 100% “motivated”.
  • Drink water regularly. Taking a sip of water after each set or every few minutes while you do cardio will both keep your body hydrated and keep your energy levels high.
  • How long? Do you have a set amount of time you workout? It can be so easy to add new exercises, stretches, or more cardio. By having a set amount of time, your workout won’t continue to grow into an hour after hour marathon session.
  • Setting achievable goals. Having exercise goals, such as doing all 3 of your workouts this week, can make doing your workouts meaningful.
  • Spice it up! For those days where you just don’t “feel” like working out, have a special workout. To learn how to create yours, please click here.

Adding these tips to your workout can add spice, excitement, and most importantly, help you stay on the path to achieving your goals.
