Bowflex Sport - How Does It Stack Up?

Search this Website
The Bowflex Sport offers 60 exercises vs. up to 95 found with other models. But does it offer enough to enable you to reach your goals?

On this page you can find a comparison between the Sport and other Bowflex models, whether the additional features could be worth the extra investment.

Comparing the Bowflex Sport to the Ultimate 1 & Ultimate 2

Bowflex truly is an amazing home gym. No longer do you need to buy 100's of pounds of “iron” and assign 1 of the rooms of your home to “the gym”. That said, Bowflex isn’t cheap. They can cost from $700 up to $2300, depending on the model.

The Bowflex Sport offers all the basic exercises a person needs to achieve their goals. On the other hand, the higher priced models offer some significant benefits.

Bowflex Sport

Bowflex Ultimate 2

    - 95 exercises

    - 12 year warranty

    - Important exercises: squats, leg press, lat pull downs.

    Special Features

      - Adjustable main pulley system (4 positions). This allows the machine to adjust to different body types and enables you to create your own custom workouts.

      - Comes standard with 310Ib of resistance (up gradable to 410Ib).

      - Preacher curls allow you to isolate and develop your biceps.

      - Squat station allows you to do squats without having to worry about your balance or proper form. This is a major benefit because squats are the most beneficial, but also the most difficult exercise to do.

      - “No cable change system.”

Which Model is Right for You?

Here are a few questions to help you decide: 1. Are you a consistent exerciser? Training at home is very convenient. However, at times it can be challenging to get "up" for a workout.

2. How many people will be using the machine? If family members are going to workout on your Bowflex, having the extra versatility of the Bowflex Ultimate 1 or 2 would be worth the added investment.

3. What can you afford to invest?

Comparison - a gym membership for a family of 4 would be $120 a month. (PLUS gas and time).

    $120 x 19 months = $2280 or you could have a new home gym that's “yours.”

4. What are your goals? If you simply want to lose

weight and look great, the Bowflex Sport will work just fine.

On the other hand, if you (or family members) love to workout or are in sports, the Ultimate models versatility would be a tremendous asset.
