For toning, having greater resistance can enable you to train each muscle at it's optimal
level. For example, your thighs will be able to use far more resistance than your arm muscles. The Bowflex Sport can be upgraded to 410Ib of resistance (which you'll find you can easily do with leg presses). At $999, you could save $769 off of the Extreme 2. To increase strength and athletic performance (or for lifetime exercisers) the Extreme 2 would work very well. With 70 exercises to choose from and resistance upgradeable to 410Ib, it would provide you with good versatility and resistance.
