Bowflex xtl plus mountain biking for weight loss?

by Kerry

I just got a Bowflex xtl and am looking to design a weight loss routine. Over the past 3 months I have dropped 30 pounds by eating less and riding my mountain bike 3-4X/wk for 1-1.5 hrs. Currently I'm at 210# and would like to get to around 180.

I'm looking for a weekly weight loss routine that keeps me on the mountain bike too. I figure I still need rest days and maybe not as much leg work on my Bowflex xtl.. but also thought that some leg work will help biking. Any suggestions how to adapt your plans to my situation?

Answer - Hi Kerry

Congratulations on your OUTSTANDING accomplishment!

Honestly Kerry, I wouldn't change anything. It sounds like you're experiencing excellent results - doing something you enjoy.

Why do more than you have to?

A Couple Tips That Could Enhance Your Results

1. Keep a rest day between your mountain biking. This allows your body to recover and burn calories.

2. Cycle the length of your rides. For example:

    Monday - 60 min
    Wednesday - 50 min
    Friday - 55 min
    Monday - 45 min
    Wednesday - 60 min
    etc.

Cycling the length of your workouts stimulates your body and keeps it from getting "bored" with your workout.

Hope this helps
