BowFlex Ultamate 2 problem




The power rods are held on by three screws. When you add the 310 pounds to the squat station the entire thing of rods gets ripped off and the screws will be stripped out!

Answer - Sounds like a defective part.

If your Bowflex Ultimate 2 is under warranty, Bowflex will send you any parts you need - free of charge.

We use our Bowflex (with the maximum resistance) 3-4 times a week. We haven't had any problems with our power rods.

However, we have noticed that screws sometimes can loosen over time.

Tip - Check your Boflex once a month - make sure all screws and bolts are as tight as poossible.

A couple of 1 inch wide by 12 inch long thin metal strips with a placed between the power rods one on top and one on bottom with a 4 inch long bolt and self locking nut on each end will cure this problem. Just drill a couple of holes and clamp it. Round the ends of the strips to remove the sharp corners.

Really like this machine. Have the ultimate 2 and it gives me a great workout at home. Have the 410 upgrade and the screws kept working loose. Went to the local hardware and bought some thin but strong metal strips one inch wide. Cut them a foot long drill a hole in each end. Round the corners with a grinder to make safe. Get some 4 inch long bolts with self locking nuts. Go ahead and tighten your bottom screws one last time if you like and bolt on strips one on bottom and one on top and forget them. Been using this for a while and doesnt seem to be damaging the power rods. The 1 inch wide strips fit nicely between the power rods.

I have Bowflex Ultimate 2 for 3 years,I notice a flaw in your power rod box its made of plastic.Small plastic in the power rod holes(A piece of plastic running across to keep each rod from twisting) has broken in my box.This is my second power rod box,its frustrating to keep my rod from twisting,Yes,I even tighten each screw.If You don't improve your boxes,I might as well make my own much sturdierand made of light alloy.

What are you people doing with you machines? Are you doing what your old, ill-informed coach used to tell you and arching your back to "throw" the weight up? I've had my Ultimate 2 for 3 years and NOW I go to the gym snce I have exceeded 410 pounds of resstance for the large muscle group exercises. have never had problems with my power rods always coming loosed.

I bought a Bowflex Blaze, and put in the screws, and one already was not holding. I was skeptical from the beginning that three tiny screws could hold something like this with such a high centre of gravity and hold up to the constant pulling and movement.

I returned the rod box, and they happily gave me another. It seemed too easy....

Then, I worked out once (I have the 310 attachment as well), and one screw fell out, one is half out, and only one is now holding.

I hope they will give me my money back. I don't see a way to fix this, and I don't want to have to keep going back for rod boxes.
