Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells - Serious Weight With a Seriously Small Footprint

by Tamara
(San Jose, CA USA)

If you are looking for a weight lifting solution that could be used by the whole family, the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells may be the solution for you. I bought this set after lots of searching. My boyfriend and I bought these because we both enjoy lifting weights, but we have very different strength levels. Also, we live in a very small apartment, so we cannot have a full set of weights. These weights are both functional and well designed. Setting the dial to a specific weight is very easy. You can set the amount of weight as low as five pounds, or as high as fifty-two pounds per dumbbell. This was really the biggest selling point for me. I rarely work out with more than twenty pounds per dumbbell, while my boyfriend often works out with thirty to forty pounds per dumbbell. If you live in a small space, or are looking for a weight set that will be used by more than one person, I suggest this set entirely.

Sometimes the weights rattle, but I have not had a weight fall off once. I make sure to wear closed toed shoes whenever I lift weights though, so I think the rattling is ok. The stand for the Bowflex Selecttech 552 is very compact, but also very strong.
