A 56 year old Lung patient miracle turn around

by nicky J payne
(comm truck salesman)

Hello My name is Nick I live in Florida with my 29 year old former World champion Amatuer boxer wife who is about to give birth to our son in March.

When we married 2 years ago she was aware that I had a serious auto immune desease Sarchordosis recent notable that passed away because of one of the many side effects of this illness was the commedian Bernie Max, he was 50 when he passed due to complications of phnemonia, I also had phnemonia in 2005 and was hospitalized for a total of 12 days.

I have had my bowflew home gym for years and it is the Bowflex Classic. They are a wonderful machine to have in your home.

I have tried the gym a couple of times but that group setting is not some thing I really care for as I like to exercise in private.

In 2009 I started having many more problems with my Sarchordosis which brings with it a greatly decreased lung function and in my case C.O.P.D. and Chronic Bronchitis and now adrenal gland failure.

It also caused me to suffer from chronic pain and kidney stone's and a high risk to any infectious illness being passed arround the office or any other enviroment I was a part of and HIGH sensativity to any and all UNNatural fragarnces house hold cleaner perfumes deodorants of any kind and acid reflux.

At the beginning of 2009 I weighed 174 pounds and was carrying a little too much fat for my liking but I was about to give up on ever loosing it or finding the courage to work out on a regular basis.

Then around March I started finding it harder and harder to breathe and my energy levels were really dropping.

I am not sure the exact causes but my job was going down hill as well as my incoming bills were getting harder to pay and I think I was trying to just give up and surrender to failure.

My wife is from the Dominican Republic and I had to fight for over 18 months to bring her here at great expense and that finally happened so she could arrive.

Once it was all approved it was like all meaning was leaving my life and my health took a dive for the worse.

I dropped down to 135 pounds in a big hurry and it was as struggle to get out of bed every day to go to work.

The worse part of the day was the shower when the things that accumulated in my lungs all night broke loose and caused me to choke gag and feel like i was drowning--30 minutes of hell I called it every day.

Then I hit real bottom. I was finally approved to go back to the V A Hospital in Tampa for treatment (I couldn't afford private insurance any longer)

They started me on new inhalers (4 of them) pain pills anti biotic's and a few other things then sort of left me out there for a little too long and I ended up calling 911 one morning when I could not catch my breath I thought it was a heart attack.

I was taken to local hospital in Bartow because they couldn't take me to VA In Tampa too far away.

Once there they said the VA would not accept the transfer and I left after they stabilized me ( I couldn't afford to be treated there)

2 more trips to the ER in Tampa ( I drove myself) and they finally admitted me for treatment I was there for 5 days before release.

The DOctor shceduled me for a lung biopsy to see if I was developing cancer as well (be my luck) and when I went in on Dec 18 for the proceedure I was telling my buddy that had to go with me I would be driving myself home in an hour don't worry.

Instead I woke up 4 days later on life support with a tude shoved down my throat things ahd not gone well with the anestisa and they had given me an accidental overdose (the Doctor later admited that to me) of the same drug that killed Michael Jackson.

I left the hospital on Chrismas day way before the Doctor thought I would (he figured 2 to 3 weeks) because I had a pregnat wife at home that needed me.

I drove home the 45 miles it was miserable I can tell you that for sure.

Got home and wa weaker and sicker than I have ever been in my entire life even though I have suffered with this desease for most of my adult life.

I was ready to die to be honest with you changed my life insurance and started putting my things together and people in place to see to the care and treatment of my wife.

I also started a Mater Mind Alliance with many of my closest friends and I share with them my thoughts and actions on a dailey basis most of the time.

And I realized one day as I was reflecting that I was bringing out bad feelings and negative reactions to many of them who didn't need to be reminded of all their problems reading of mine.

SO I decided it was time to take charge of my illness and bend it to my will and the only way I could see was to use that Bowflex and change my attitude about life and how long and how well I wanted to live it not just be a coward and surrender it wasn't the Marine Corps way and they always said Once A Marine Always a Marine

SO I decided I can do this.

I have been using my Bowflex home gym dailey for 3 weeks now working different parts on my body every day and the turn around is amazing.

I am gainning weight and loose inches all at the same time and me now only at 143 pounds and my energy level is climbing and my friends are amazed and cheeering me on and a few of them are getting on the band wagon and doing things to improve their lives also.

I am at this time still a work in progress but I have too tell you where as getting out of bed used to be 30 Minutes of HELL now if is my favorite time of the day

No more inhalers (almost never) no more choking gagging drowning from fluid build up.

I can walk and even ran across the lot were I sell cars and trucks the other day

All my co workers are looking at me in awe wondering what I have done so I tell them MY BOWEFLEX IS SAVING MY LIFE.

MY new goal is to become a Bowflex Spokesman for the older generation.
